At Ozzy Nautilus we stock a large selection of snorkelling equipment within our collection of scuba gear. You can choose from semi-dry to dry snorkels as well as flex snorkels that are your perfect answer to rough or choppy water conditions!During longer swims using a snorkel is advised as it will help conserve the amount of air that a diver will have stored in the tanks allowing for a more comfortable and enjoyable dive. Whilst waiting for your dive boat, having a snorkel that is attached to your mask will allow you to further conserve energy and air as you will avoid swallowing lungfuls of water and decreasing your dive tank, especially during rough water conditions. There are numerous types of snorkels, dry snorkels usually have a floatation system device that floats upwards when underwater, stopping water from entering the snorkel. There are also semi-dry snorkels that have splash guards at the top of the tube, preventing water from entering the snorkel tube easily. This is perfect for divers who want to conserve as much air in their tank as possible whilst surface swimming as a less bulky snorkel is required but any sprays still get deflected. For ease of accessibility and storage we recommend getting snorkels that are foldable or flexible. Also choose a snorkel that can be stored in your BC pocket or attached to your buoyancy compensator during your dive, then whilst swimming upon the surface can be attached to your scuba mask’s strap.
