At Ozzy Nautilus we have a wide selection of dive boots, we are certain that you will find the perfect pair of scuba boots to accompany your scuba gear on your next dive! Your dive boots should be purchased before your fins as your dive boots will determine the size and fit of your scuba fins. There are a few variables to watch out for when choosing which scuba booties to purchase. The first is thickness - similar to a wetsuit, dive boots are also made from neoprene and come in a range of sizes and thicknesses from 2mm dive boots to 7mm dive boots. The thickness you opt for should be appropriate for the water conditions and temperature you will be diving in. 2-5mm are perfect for warm water diving and we advise you to go for thicknesses greater than 5mm when diving in cold water.Another variable to look out for is the size and fit of the scuba boots. Remember scuba boots only come in whole sizes so it is advised that you round up in case you fall between two sizes. Scuba boots should fit just like normal shoes and should be snug and not too loose or tight on your toes. The cut and soles of your boots should also be appropriate for the conditions you will be diving in. If you only do boat diving a thinner sole will be enough, however, for shore diving, a thicker sole will be required as it will help you walk over rocks, hot sand and other natural obstacles. Furthermore similar to regular shoes a low to mid-cut is usually opted for during warmer dives as less insulation and added buoyancy will be required. However, opt for higher cuts in colder conditions.
